5 of the best: Thai Beaches

Continuing our Thailand themed week here is a list of some of the best beaches that the country has to offer. We’ve tried to avoid the usual spots to give you some recommendations on some truly stunning places that haven’t been coated in Australian vomit or Tarquin’s stag do revelry.

1. Thong Nai Pan

Known to Back Packers as TNP it contains two fantastic beach resorts. Apparently you are more likely to see older men wearing thongs on the beaches so it does live up to its name albeit in a rather dissapointing way.

2. Krabi

The Railay beach area is full of photographic opportunities as well as some of the most famous rock climbing spots if you’re after something a little more active.

3. Phi Phi

The Phi Phi Islands are located near Phuket and contain some of those beautiful beaches that appear in the Leo Dicaprio film. They aren’t so much of a secret any more though.

4. Koh Kood (Ko Kut)

Located in the Trat Province and with almost no nightlife this is one of the quieter islands. So pack your travel novels and set up camp on the beach for some relaxation.

5. Ao Phunga Nga

One for the film buffs out there, try and find “James Bond Island”. The Man With The Golden Gun was shot here…by James Bond disguised as a dummy of himself.

    Definitely nicer than dreary London!

If it’s Thailand week does that mean we get free Pad Thai…???
